A day out at Werribee Zoo!

The Grade 4 students are currently learning about vulnerable, endangered and extinct animals. To build upon their knowledge last week (Wednesday 5th of June) they had an excursion to Werribee Zoo. Below are some comments a couple of the students reflected upon:

On Wednesday the 5th of June the Grade 4’s went on an excursion to the Werribee Zoo. First of we got out the bus and had our snack then we went to see the Silvered Back Gorillas. After that we walked around to the activity were you put two animals together with to random words and then you have a new animal. After that we went to the African wild dogs, we saw them in a pack running around then we ran to the lion enclosure we saw them eating and some were even sleeping. Then we went over to the rhinos, but there were no rhinos because they’re breeding, so we went off to the meeting spot where we got onto the safari bus. We got to see all the different types of animals, one we saw was the One Humped Camel, while this was going at every animal we got a fun fact about the animals. One was that the camels have only fat in there hump. After we did the safari bus we went to the education program and we learnt about skulls of African animals, then we went to were all the monkeys sleep and play. Then we went to Zoorasic where we saw all different dinosaurs we also got to see a old shed. After that we went to our meeting spot and had our lunch then we went off to the bus. We had a nice bus ride back to school and at the end I guess all of Grade 4C and Grade 4K had the best day ever.
