Chinese Cultural Day 2019!

On Wednesday 6th of November 2019, Cana students enjoyed the Lion Dance performance on the yellow assembly area. Parents were also invited to stay for the Lion Dance performance on Cana Chinese Cultural Day. There was very positive feedback from children and the teachers after the performance and below is some feedback from the children.

Chloe Gatt 6M

I really enjoyed the Lion Dancing because it was entertaining and I liked the cool tricks that the guys did. I learnt that the lettuce means good fortune and the dances take a couple of months to learn.

Lucas Jose 1H

I liked when they danced on top of each other’s shoulder. My favourite part was when he kicked the lettuce. I learnt that it might take a long time to practice.

Maya Simunija 6M

I thought a lot of hard work went into the dance and it was funny and entertaining.

I learnt that unlike the Dragon Dance, the Lion Dance only consists of two people. I also learnt that the lion symbolises wealth and fortune.

Tomi Sakic 1H

The Lion Dance was very cool and I learnt that it is hard to learn it. My favourite part was when they kicked the lettuce. At the start I thought they were a dragon. I really enjoyed the dance. The dance takes two years to practice.
