Grade 6- Foodbank initiative

At the start of Term 2, the Grade 6 students completed their Sacrament of Confirmation. Since then, they have been trying to walk in the footsteps of Jesus and follow his mission to help the less fortunate. Over the past few weeks, the Grade 6 students have collected food and other items to create ‘Holy Spirit Hampers’ that were to be donated to Foodbank Victoria. Foodbank is Australia’s largest food relief organisation, operating on a scale that makes it crucial to the work of the front line charities who are feeding vulnerable Australians, so it was an important charity that the Grade 6 students were very proud to support. On Monday the 6th of June, 2 grade 6 students: Chelsea and Xavier, along with their parents and Miss Galliott drove all of the ‘Holy Spirit Hampers’ to the Foodbank donation centre in Yarraville. The Foodbank volunteers were very grateful for the fantastic donations and selfless actions of the Grade 6 students.
