Graffiti Education!

On Friday the 15th of March, Xavier a member of Melton Council visited the Grade 5/6 students to talk about the consequences of Graffiti Vandalism. Graffiti is illegally writing or drawing on public and private property.

Xavier taught the Grade 5/6 students about the reasons why vandalising or tagging other peoples property is illegal. One of the reasons is the fact that Graffiti Vandalism damages property. It has effects that can lower the value of your area. Cleaning up Vandalism is expensive. The rates you pay are used by the Council to clean up Graffiti. If YOU get caught vandalising others property, penalties could be severe. First you will get a warning. If you do it again you could be sent to the juvenile detention centre.

The students learnt that if you commit to this crime you are not only letting yourself down, but you are also letting down the Community.
