This term the grade 1s have been reading and responding to books written by Theodore Seuss Geisel – more famously known as DR. SEUSS.
. They have enjoyed responding to the Dr. Seuss books through art and craft activities.
Students also have been learning facts about Dr. Seuss. This is what they have come to learn:
- Dr. Seuss’ real name was Theodore Seuss Geisel.
- Dr. Seuss was born in the U.S.A.
- Dr. Seuss’ first book in which he wrote was called ‘And to Think I Saw It On Mulberry Street. He wrote this book in 1937.
- Dr. Seuss published over 60 picture story books.
- He is an author and an illustrator.
- Dr. Seuss’ favourite colour is purple.
- Fox in Sox was written in 1956 and Green Eggs and Ham was written in 1960.
- Dr. Seuss added Dr. to his name because his dad always wanted him to be a doctor.
