Introducing our 2022 School Leaders!

On Thursday 17th February, the Cana school community came together to congratulate the 2022 School leaders. The leaders were presented with badges and we look forward to seeing them flourish in their roles as the year progresses.

Our 2022 General School Leaders are:

Angelina Raso– Hello, my name is Angelina Raso and I am one of the general school leaders for 2022 along with my amazing friend Olivia Casser who is the other school leader. I will be an amazing role model for all the students at Cana Catholic Primary School. I look forward to planning fun activities with our principal, Mrs Blatti. If anyone needs help, or if anyone has any questions you can ask Olivia or I. I hope to be an amazing school leader in 2022.

Olivia Cassar– Hello, my name is Olivia Cassar and I will be one of the two general school leaders for 2022. I hope to be a great role model to younger students at Cana Catholic Primary School and  hope to make a change within the school, with the help of my friend/fellow school leader, Angelina Raso. I look forward to making up fun activities throughout the year with our amazing principal, Mrs. Blatti. I will also make sure that I, as well as the students at Cana learn about and eventually use the 7 Cana Characteristics: collaborative work, reflective, Self-Motivation, persistence, resilience, curiosity and risk-taking.

Our 2022 Sport Leaders are:

Father O’Reilly House (Yellow)- Gabriella Italiano and Lucas Burke

Hi, my name is Gabriella Italiano, I am a leader of Father O’Reilly (Yellow House) and I work with Lucas. This year I will be a great role model and I will try to be as helpful, caring and kind as I can. I want to make sport fun and inclusive for all. I also have a passion for basketball, but I also love to do netball. I have been doing basketball since I was 4 years old and I used to do netball but I stopped because I wanted to play more basketball. I am very grateful that Mr. Cassar has chosen me to be a leader for 2022 and I am looking forward to working with him and all of the other Leaders.

Hi my name is Lucas. I am eleven and I am one of the Father O’Reilly (yellow house) leaders. I will be working with Mr Cassar and Gabby italiano who is also in the yellow house. If you need anything with sports stuff you can come to me. I do love to play soccer and cricket. That is just a bit about me. I am very grateful to be a leader for 2022

St Joseph House (Red)- Lola Henry and Marcus Valori

Hello my name is Lola and I am the sports leader of Red house (St Joseph). I will be working with Marcus who is the other Red house leader. This year I’ll be looking forward to being a sports leader for 2022. I will help set up for interschool sports, checking the tubs for sport equipment and I will be helping Mr Cassar. I am very thankful for being chosen as a sports leader.

Hello my name is Marcus Valori and I am eleven years old. This is my seventh year at Cana. I am one of the leaders of St. Joseph (Red House) and I work with Lola. I will encourage others, be a good role model and help the younger children. I was introduced to sports at the age of two. I have a pretty good knowledge of sport because in the past I have played many different sports including football, cricket, basketball, swimming and tennis. I am looking forward to working with Mr. Cassar and the sport leaders in 2022.

St Patrick (Green)- Joel Rizzo and Elena Hales

Hi my name is Joel I am going to be working with Elena. We are the green house sport leaders (St Patrick) this year I will be helping Mr Cassar in sport and I will be helping set up interschool sport and regular sport. I will make sure that everyone has a fair amount of sports equipment. I will also make sure that everyone has fun and stays safe. I am appreciative for being chosen as a 2022 St Patrick sport leader.

Hi I’m Elena,  I am in a green house known as St Patrick.  I have an amazing partner Joel. if you see any equipment please pick it up and put it in the lost and found. We will also help Mr. Casser with the sports equipment.I am very grateful to have been chosen for this role in 2022.

St Mary MacKillop (Blue)- Shantae Borg and Aaron Pereira

Hi my name is Shantae Borg. I am eleven years old. I am a leader of St. Mary Mackillop (Blue House) and I work with Aaron. This year I will be a good role model for the younger years, help anyone out and I will encourage everyone to have good sportsmanship. An interest I have is too dance. I have been dancing since I was one. I am very thankful that I got chosen to be a sports leader this year and I am looking forward to working with Mr. Cassar.

My name is Aaron Pereira. I am one of the leaders for the Mary Mackillop House (blue house). I will be working with Shantae, the other Mary Mackillop house captain, and Mr. Cassar to ensure that you get the best of what the school has to offer. If you need any help with anything don’t feel afraid to come and ask me. I am looking forward to being one of the many sports leaders for 2022.

Victoria Panayi

My name is Victoria Panayi and I have been chosen to be one of the  leaders of the Mary Mackillop group.  I joined the Mary MacKillop group  when I was in grade three and since then enjoyed helping others around the school. Our goal this year is to help everyone at our school and make our school a safe and happy place. I follow one of  Mary Mackillop’s famous sayings: “Never see a need without doing something about it”.

Savannah Friggieri

My name is Savannah Friggieri and I am the Mary Mackillop leader for 2022.  I joined the Mary MacKillop group  when I was in grade three and wanted to be just like Mary caring for the people around her. As a leader of the Mary Mackillop group I will be a role model for the younger students at Cana by making better choices with my actions and words. My goal this year as a leader is to help others just  like Mary Mackillop “Find happiness in making others happy”.

Emilia Raunik

My name is Emilia Raunik and I am the Mary Mackillop leader for 2022. I joined the Mary MacKillop group  when I was in grade three and had never regretted it once! I believe this group is a huge part of my life and that I will always follow the saying “Whatever troubles may be before you, accept them bravely. ” Mary Mackillop is a wonderful role model for me and I want to be someone like her when I am older. Just like she did, I will always try to show honesty, fairness and caring throughout this year and the rest of my life. I promise to my whole school that we will work together and try our best to support each other and help one another through struggles.
