National Ride2School Day

On Friday 24th March, Cana partook in National Ride2school day. Students and their families were encouraged to join 350,000 students from around the nation and walk, ride, skate or scoot to school rather than drive. The initiative is to help save the environment and also help contribute to the students having a healthy and active lifestyle. Throughout the week students learnt about bike education through their Physical Education lessons, in particular the ABC’s bike check. A- Making sure there is enough air in the tyres. B- Check brakes are functioning. C- Check chain is nice and tight. S- Ensure seat is at their hip height.

There was a fantastic response by our students with 135 students riding, skating or scooting to school. Each student received a certificate. We hope to see more students riding, skating, scooting or walking to school each day.
